That's totally true what Cedric says about metal and trance. I've made exactly the same evolution. For my whole life I was a rock fan, listening everything from metal to punk and hardcore punk, but then discovered electronic genres which actually were digestible (since early synth-pop wasn't actually). First I discovered melodic trance but soon got fed-up of it. But then I discovered goa/psy which is THE best electronic genre to me. I can't get enough of it, so now punk/metal/hardcore punk and goa/psy are my fav genres.
